TÜBİTAK 2209-A Funded Project Success of Our Undergraduate Students
The results of the 2024/1 term of the "2209-A Research Projects Support Program for Undergraduate Students," conducted by TÜBİTAK’s Scientist Support Programs Presidency (BİDEB), have been announced. Our faculty's students have achieved significant academic success by qualifying for support under this program.
The Topic of “Psychology from Diverse Perspectives” Addressed at an International Workshop Held at Our University
Hosted by the Turkish-German University and organized by the Faculty of Cultural and Social Sciences on April 8, 2025, the international workshop titled “Psychology from Diverse Perspectives / Psychologie aus diversen Perspektiven” was held with valuable academic contributions. Within the framework of the interdisciplinary foundation of the social sciences, the event provided meaningful insights into social interaction, intercultural contexts, and the causes and processes of migration from the perspective of psychological science and research.

On November 30, 2024, a coordination meeting was held under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Aysel Uzuntaş, Vice-Rector and Acting Dean of our Faculty, in which Prof. Dr. Michael Waltisberg, Faculty Coordinator from Heidelberg University, Assoc. The book “Eco-Imagination towards a Sustainable Future: Perspectives from Philosophies in Islam”, edited by Prof. Dr. Detlev Quintern in collaboration with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Daniela Verducci, has recently been published by Springer Verlag.
The Subject of “Cultural Change in the Context of Globalization of Communication and Social Practices” Was Discussed in the International Symposium Held at Our University
Hosted by the Turkish-German University, the international symposium titled “Cultural Change in the Context of Globalization of Communication and Social Practices”, organized by the Faculty of Culture and Social Sciences between November 28-30, 2024, was realized with intensive academic contributions. The event addressed contemporary social change processes with an interdisciplinary approach and provided participants with the opportunity to discuss the topics. The symposium, which was encouraged by the German Academic Exchange Service DAAD, was attended by distinguished scientists, researchers and students from various national and international academic institutions.

The workshop “Sustainability as a principle and framework for action”, which was organized by the Faculty of Cultural and Social Sciences, focused on the integration of the sustainability concept as a central principle and practicable framework for action in entrepreneurial processes.

Under the moderation of PD Dr. Robin Kurilla, PD Dr. Guido Wolf from the University of Duisburg-Essen and conex Institute Bonn delivered a presentation on November 21, 2024, at the Faculty of Cultural and Social Sciences. The topic was "Sustainability as a Principle and Framework for Action: Future Perspectives for the (Working) World. Historical and Conceptual Development Lines in the Sustainability Discourse."

Our faculty member from the Faculty of Culture and Social Sciences, Dr. Büşra Fadim Sarıkaya Tünalp, has contributed a work titled “Muslim Influencers – An Overview of the Role of Muslim Female Influencers Based on Their Online Presence During Ramadan 2023” in the book “Herausforderung Digitalisierung – Islamische Theologie im digitalen Zeitalter,” published by the German publisher De Gruyter.
RTÜK hosted Doç. Dr. Elif Posos Devrani for the Digital Parenting and Media Literacy Seminar
The Supreme Council of Radio and Television Broadcasting (RTÜK) hosted a seminar held by Turkish-German university professor Assoc. Dr. Elif Posos Devrani. The seminar, entitled “Digital Parenting and Media Literacy,” was held to raise awareness among RTÜK employees about parenting and media use in the digital world.
Res. Assist. Melih Pehlivan received the Special Prize for the Best Thesis of the Faculty of Humanities and Cultural Studies at the University of Passau
Melih Pehlivan, graduate of the double degree program Intercultural Management-International Cultural and Business Studies at the Turkish-German University and the University of Passau, and research assistant at the Department of Cultural and Communication Studies, was awarded the special prize of the Sparkasse Passau for the best thesis at the Academic Celebration of the Faculty of Humanities and Cultural Studies of the University of Passau on February 9, 2024 for his thesis Eine junge Universität in Istanbul - Auswirkungen der Türkisch-Deutschen Universität auf ihr Umfeld und die Integration dieser in die urbane Gesellschaft (A Young University in Istanbul - The Impact of the Turkish-German University on its Environment and its Integration into Urban Society).
