Faculty of Culture and Social Sciences Research Colloquium Held on 06 May 2026
The Research Colloquium organized by the Faculty of Culture and Social Sciences was held on 06 May 2026. The meeting began with the opening speech of the Dean of our Faculty, Prof. Dr. Aysel Uzuntaş. In her speech, evaluations were made regarding the academic activities carried out within the faculty, planned scientific events, and international academic studies. She also emphasized the contribution of scientific events to academic interaction and the development of a research culture within the faculty.
During the meeting, planned international academic events and collaborations within the faculty were discussed. Subsequently, researchers from our faculty who have been conducting research activities in Germany through scholarship programs gave presentations about their research processes. Research Assistant İrem Dölen, who has been carrying out research at Ilmenau University of Technology within the scope of her master’s studies through a DAAD-YÖK scholarship, provided information about her thesis topic. Research Assistant Ayşenur Özkan presented insights into her research process during her stay at the University of Mannheim under a DAAD doctoral research scholarship.
Associate Professor Dr. Elif Posos Devrani shared her study titled “Cultural Adaptation in the Digital Parenting Practices of Turkish Parents Migrating to Germany,” conducted at TH Köln under a DAAD research scholarship, focusing on the relationship between digital parenting, social media, and migration. In the final part of the colloquium, Assistant Professor Dr. Anlam Filiz presented her research titled “Qualified Migration to Germany: New Discourses, New Experiences,” conducted at Bielefeld University through a DAAD research scholarship, addressing migration analyses and the experiences of qualified migrants.
The meeting concluded following evaluations and exchanges of ideas regarding current academic studies, international academic collaborations, and ongoing research processes within the faculty.
