The Academic General Assembly Meeting of our Faculty was held on 28 January 2026. During the meeting, the Dean of our Faculty, Prof. Dr. Aysel Uzuntaş, presented an evaluation of the previous period and shared information regarding the planning process for the current period.

The research colloquium organized by the Faculty of Cultural and Social Sciences took place on February 26, 2025, under the chairmanship of our Vice-Rector and Dean, Prof. Dr. Aysel Uzuntaş, with broad participation from faculty members.
The general assembly of our faculty was held on 26 February 2025. The session began with the opening speech by our Vice-Rector and Dean, Prof. Dr. Aysel Uzuntaş, and continued with discussions on the agenda items.
The Faculty of Culture and Social Sciences was established to provide education and conduct research on issues related to society and culture from an interdisciplinary perspective within its departments. The study programs are developed in accordance with the Bologna Process in a student-centered manner and in line with international standards through joint collaboration between Turkish and German scholars. Particular emphasis is placed on benefiting from both Turkish and German academic experiences.
The Dean of the Faculty of Culture and Social Sciences is Prof. Dr. Aysel Uzuntaş. The faculty’s partner university is Heidelberg University, and the faculty coordinator is Prof. Dr. Michael Waltisberg.
The aim is to educate graduates who possess the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to address topics and issues at national and international levels from a scientific perspective, to develop solutions to new situations, and to evaluate data and phenomena effectively. The primary objective of the programs is to train students who are knowledgeable about cultural and social issues at both national and international levels, research-oriented, capable of critical and analytical thinking, professionally qualified, proficient in two foreign languages—German and English—and equipped with strong intercultural communication skills.
At the same time, the faculty has adopted as its guiding principle to make significant contributions to the academic world through original scientific research at national and international levels on culture, interculturality, communication, and the perception, emotions, thoughts, behaviors, and communication patterns of individuals and societies.
The languages of instruction at the faculty are Turkish and German, and the duration of education is four years. A preparatory year is offered for students who do not know German or whose German proficiency is insufficient. In each department, German faculty members teach alongside Turkish faculty members.
